Happy Birthday to Me! And Barbie.
I is OLDER!!!! Hahaha. I finally hit the BIG 3-0 on 9th March (Trivia: Osama Bin Laden's birthday is on 10th. Phew~ Close call). How do I feel? G-R-E-A-T. I don't really get the people who fear aging but I do worry about my loved ones leaving me. Oh well, sad thoughts another day. I don't have many major wants (except for a cute, fluffy cat) but I do wish that there are less hungry children in the world and more schools built for them. Basically, I'd like my beloved family and friends to be healthy and happy. That's it. Oh and I also want to be really good at cooking ha ha ha. I think I am on my way there but I'd like to know how to use salt and herbs better.
Last week, I was back in Singapore for a whirlwind trip over the weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I managed to catch up with all the people I cared about: my family and my girlfriends from the school days. Whoot. I want to do these more. Am elated to find little G growing so pretty and strong. Check out her sweet face:

These days she is busy learning how to flip. I think the next time I visit her, she would be comfortably sitting up already. Babies are such little angels.
Although turning 30 is quite a milestone, I celebrated it pretty quietly. I think my clubbing days are over... I went clubbing with my siblings over New Year's Eve and I was out in 45minutes. It was just too much for Loverboy and I. What we did was to walk over to his old place and sat at the lobby airing our feet. Then we looked at each other and agreed that this was a much better way to spend the new year than pushing sticky bodies at Attica. Anyway we fed ourselves very well at an Italian restaurant yesterday and by the time our tiramisu came, we were on the verge of puking. LOL I think it was a mistake attacking the bread basket.
Loverboy presented me with 2 stalks of white Calla lilies (One fatter stalk that represented him; an Na'vi-ish one that represented ME). Awwwww I love lilies! And then the waiter came over with the tiramisu cake and sang 'Happy Birthday' to me. Perfect. Simple, quiet and low-key. Me likes.

When things settled abit, we sat staring at the tiramisu cake trying not to puke. HAHAHAHA. Tonight, we are so hitting the gym.
So, to reward my sweetie with his thoughtful gesture last night, I made him dumplings today! It is yet again, another strike off the 'To Do' list. This is my first attempt and I think, not too shabby at all! If only I'd put in my effort when I was studying for my 'A' Levels. (-_-;) I can't wait to see his face when he sees gyoza on the table :D
Am I digging this housewife role too much? Y-E-S.

In case you were wondering, I made 2 types: one to fry and one for soup! It was very time consuming. Now I know why making dumplings is a communal affair. I got the recipe here: http://www.maangchi.com/recipe/mandu
These are actually Korean dumplings called 'Mandu' Ha ha ha (surprise!!). I wanted to make Japanese goyza but I couldn't find cabbage in the supermarket. Can YOU believe it?! It's just rows after rows of lettuce.......lettuce and cabbage are different right? LMAO!! You are now looking at the face of a woman who used to have difficulties differentiating Golden and Labrador Retrievers ok?
Thank you for all the well wishes, people. I do hope the coming year rocks. Let's all become better and nicer people ya?
