Sometimes it is hard to believe how time flies. My wedding banquet is now 2 weeks' news. I thought I just had my ROM. *yikes* The preparation leading to it was kinda hectic....tolerable and luckily I didn't lose my mind. I was still pretty much chilling until the day before. I was lucky cuz I had alot of help from the angels around me. Plus, it was my dad who had the 20 tables so it was all easy peasy for me. Ha! That said, I won't wanna relive it. Sure, weddings are always fun but it is also way too much work, trouble and fuss. I am happy the banquet was finally over. It was terribly fun though. I wish I had more time to speak to my various guests who so kindly took time off to attend my wedding. And my goodness, the camera flashes!! Amazing~ I felt like a celebrity for a day.
I had my banquet on the 9th of May. No particular reason why. I chose the date because:
1. Four Seasons was available.
2. It was a weekend.
3. My name is May.
4. I think 4-5months is a comfortable space of time to prepare.
LOL. That's it. Nothing very complicated. The hotel was free and May is probably more time to prepare than say, compared to March so that was it. Plus, '9' is a nice number. Talk about 'bochap'.

Again, I am lucky my parents are clueless about the traditions so we had it easy. We started the gatecrashing at 9.30am, which apparently is rather late. I just wanted everyone to sleep more haha. Loverboy came to fetch me in a gladiator-ish costume with his bunch of 'Lovely Angels'. Yup, he bought and MADE the props himself. I was surprised because I certainly wasn't expecting it. I thought he was gonna turn up in bermudas. We HAD this conversation once, I swear.
LB: Eh May Chan what are u going to wear in the morning?
RJ: My white gown.
LB: Huh?! In the morning?? So formal???
RJ: Darling, that is what everyone does.
LB: Oh........not bermudas???
RJ: LOL NOOOOO!!!
LB: But I can bring my tuxedo right? Before I come to your room, I can change into it. Do you mind?
RJ: Ummmm...I guess it is ok. But if you fetch me in berms I will slam the door in your face.
LB: Fufu~
When they arrived, my bridemaids all started laughing very loudly. It was a pity I was stuck in my room but apparently the 'Lovely Angels' were very funny and good sports. They volunteered for every trick and whenever they completed a task, they will circle around Loverboy and then form some gay formation ala Shaolin Temple's 18 Luohan thingamallit. You get the picture (btw I am not saying the 18 Luohan formation is gay.)
Anyway I thought were sistas were perfect foil and match to Loverboy's spontaneous brothas. My sistas were fiery and full of sass.

I was a bunch of nerves waiting outside the door for the first march in. I don't know why either but it is intimidating walking into a ballroom of almost 300 people LOOKING AT ME. Thank god the song I chose made me shake the fear away. If you would like to know, it's 'My Girl' by The Temptations. Lovely to jiggy along to. Also...the song sings about the month of May too...keke.

My gorgeous mummy. I hope I age like her...will make Loverboy very lucky. Next to her is Ella from S.H.E. See? I managed to invite her all the way from Taiwan to grace my event. Power right?

I totally dig his facial expression. The Loverboy with curry hair.

I love love love how colorful the event turned out. The Japanese treat weddings quite solemnly so most of them will be dressed in black. On the otherhand, we Chinese love bright colours like red, pink and gold. I'm so proud of my sistas in their very colorful cheongsams.

With Boodiboo, Gus Gus and Budsey, it is an obligation to ditch the glamour and ham it up for the cameras.
I'd like to take this opportunity to everyone who had given me their blessings or help. RocketJim is a happy woman! Thank you all who took so many lovely pictures for me to remember the event by.
