Speak English Campaign

I am very proud of Loverboy because his English has improved leaps and bound after meeting me. Come this July, it would be 2 years since we met. Not a very long time if you ask me but long enough to semi-perfect a languge. When we first met, Loverboy spoke very slowly. He would pause alot between words to get a point across. Now, he speaks English rapidly although the Japanese accent is still lingering. Me? I've been speaking Japanese for 8-9years and only in the 7th year did I learn the bad or unglam words. It took me 7 years to learn what 'farting' is called in Japanese hahahaha. Japanese women refused to teach me such words so it's useful to have a male friend sometimes.

Loverboy's spelling is however, still atrocious. Sometimes I take time to decipher his sms-es. A few times I really laughed. Would you like to have a shot at deciphering? What is:

1. Made?
2. Calot?
3. Anti?
4. Cock?
5. Biginer?

"My fren's made is vely gd! Anti only cost $30 a month."

The above is an example of an sms from Loverboy. We were discussing about hiring some help at the Jakarta apartment. Now better? Hahaha. (My friend's maid is very good. Auntie is only $30 a month.) I took a long time to figure out that sms.

BTW, made-maid; calot-carrot; anti-auntie; cock-cook; biginer-beginner. Not easy huh? International marriages are hence, fun. I won't say it is trouble free since the Japanese psyche is kinda.....stifling but you know, there are instances like the above to keep the relationship lighthearted. He just can't spell 'cook' to save his life. I taught him about 4 times but he always spell it as 'cock'. Sooooo funny. There was a time he sms-ed my dad about 'cocking Japanese curry' and that he 'cocks very well'. My dad woke up in the morning staring at the sms and couldn't fall back to sleep because he couldn't stop laughing.

Man, I miss Loverboy. It's hard believing I am married because we don't stay together. I wonder when is the next time I can see him since my schedule in April is quite packed. He has few friends there too so everyday I get the, "May chan, what are u doing??" sms-es. He must be pretty lonely. Anyway 3 more months to go! Ganbatte~ Very soon I'll join you in Jakarta~
