I think it is amazing that a dear friend of mine living SO FAR away from me understands my situation and me best. I was both appalled at her wisdom and her logic. I should stop recommending her sad songs because if she really decide to jump, I will be terribly lonely. And her motherland will lose a very odd species to educate the rest of the more.....mmmm contented species. Hehe.

It just dawned on me....I dunno but I could be very wrong but I think many Singaporeans are very stressed and unhappy. That's why most of my passengers are so rude. And because we come from such an efficient country, most of us forget the little words of appreciation and kindness. 80% of my Motherland passengers don't say 'please'. If they ask for juices, they say, "Give me apple juice."

GIVE???? Where's the magic word, man??

It just began to bug me alot how my fellow countrymen are so competitive. What are you competing for really? A colleague of mine was opening up to me recently. She was previously in the financial sector and she said she couldn't take it anymore. The people around her were so stressed and uptight, they become rude and curt all the time. Sure, they earned well and could afford good cars, good bags and good holidays but they are only happy when they aren't working. It was an interesting insight from her. She said her ex colleagues were only nicer people when it came to Fridays....haha. To directly quote her: "There are 365 days a year and these people are only happy 20odd days" That's the annual leave. Hahaha. Whoa~

Well I'm a huge believer in the 'Whatever Floats Your Boat' saying (if this can be counted as a saying). I am not saying anyone is wrong to persue the next It bag or next exotic holiday or better addresses. I don't like it but I accept it's the Singaporean Dream. I just don't like how people get all stressed up to try to live the life they can't comfortably afford. Deep down, I just really think there is a huge desire to outdo the neighbour. Also, what's with everyone trying to buy a condominium? Wow...have you seen the number of launches on the newspapers these days? I understand it's lovely to have a good address. I want one too. But it doesn't make sense in Singapore (many times) when the condos and HDBs share the same views. See Havelock Road and Queenstown.

Anyway, it's just me.

I am broke as hell so I am jealous. Haha!
