RocketJim's Nature Walk Stunt under Afternoon Heat

My buddy, Ting, suggested a long walk for our next outing so that was what we did. I'd always wanted to go do that new park connector between Mt. Faber and Kent Ridge and it was indeed very enjoyable. The weather was mad hot but since there was enough canopy, the long walk was good. At least, we did have so much fun. We started from HortPark and ended at Harborfront Station through the Marang Trail.

The Forest Walk was ingenious. I really liked it. The winding bridge is, I think, a very pretty structure. If you have enough balls, you should ALWAYS look down while you walk. Heh heh. Anyway, in Ting's and my opinion, don't waste time going through the HortPark or Floral Walk. Start from the Forest Walk. We felt kinda duped when we were doing the Floral Walk...since it was over in several seconds. The Forest Walk isn't long, about 2.7km.

Example of different upbringings in Society. These are the people who make me choke when I sing national songs on National Day. Do I really want to proclaim a 'One People, One Nation' shizz with such lower lifeforms? Anyway, point is, hurry go check out the parks before more are being vandalised.

The prettiest part of the long walk: Henderson Waves. I wasn't expecting this at all...this is my new favourite place in Singapore to bring depressed friends for long talks. The view is plain lovely. Sea breezes are plentiful too. I am not sure if it will be terribly crowded on weekends but it's really pretty. I love it so much. This picture doesn't do it any justice. Ting and I were busy hydrating and enjoying the breezes.

Unfortunately, teenagers have also found the place. The first 2 shelters were 'choped' by couples in school uniforms doing things best left to adults. The third shelter was a huge picnic venue for another group of girls. I hope they know how to clean up after themselves. (You can so tell my disdain for young human beings.)

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. I am not proud to say I forgot my spf again. I so need to go invest in one of those Neutreguena ones. Ting has one from Sunplay at 130spf. 130!!!! I never hear before, sia!

The terrace garden. Looks pretty huh? It was socrching!

Ting and I took about 2 hours to finish the trail. Yay!! Of course, we were doing it very leisurely; chatting and joking at the same time. I am thinking that the next time, we would start from Harborfront station and end at Alexandra Road. Ending at Harborfront was dangerous because we soon polished a Carl's Junior burger each. There goes all the calories burned. I spent almost $100 on jogging attire for mny dad too. :'( I was so trying to keep my daily budget to $20...all down the drainnnnn.

But I is one happy woman.

Also, another great piece of news is that Loverboy has been messaging me everyday about his gym sessions. I can't believe he is so hardcore. Good lah. I got nothing to lose also.

As an aside....Adidas sports attire have very nice designs. I was checking out the Nike store too but I thought they were not...very...aesthetic. The only downer at adidas is the lack of sports-bras. Nike has a better selection. The staff at Adidas Vivocity were SO helpful. Much thanks and very much appreciated! I was in a dilemma over what to get for my dad but they gave me so many useful suggestions. Wow, this is what you call exemplary service. Will be definitely back for more. And they offer a further 10% discount if you pay with a Citibank card so Yay!

Me likes!
