I am so proud of Singapore's Female Everest Team. Go, girls! I mean, no, CONGRATULATIONS of the highest order! Respect, sia. Talk about fulfilling a dream. I think climbing Everest is a dream of all dreams. I am so happy for them. I am envious actually...if you can conquer Everest, what can you not conquer in Life? You go girls! RocketJim salutes you. You are a role model for all youths. *thumbsup*
To all hopeless youths having sex at the staircase or blocking the way on MRTs or picking fights at Dbl O, go find a mountain and conquer it. Thank you.
In the meantime, I have been reading many gay men's blog. They do live the high life... Where do they find the money to buy branded bags every other month? Half the Balenciagas and YSL and Vuittons out there are being owned by these gay men. Again, RocketJim salutes you all. Respect! Thank you for doing your part in helping the economy (although these purchases aren't exactly made-in-singapore). Still, spending is spending. I mean, I am darn curious. Where do they find the money to afford all these things? My gay buddy said he has an impulsive need to match all his clothes and accessories so I think that is why. Even if they go hungry, they have to match that weird-ish flourescent green LV bag or impractical white Prada shoes.
Anyway I love their blogs. Who don't like looking at pretty stuff?
Still, most of the time after too much reading, I get this 'luxury overload' and feel sick. It's all good for them if they can afford whatever they bought. But a bag is still just a bag...do we really need a $5000 Bottega bag? Ok, I am not one to say since I get my luxury cravings too but you know, you buy a new bag and then bring it to the office the next day and have your female colleagues fawn over you. The glory keeps you radiant for a few days; you steal looks at your leather baby and chuckle and then it's all over.
I think SQ stewardesses are the most pitiful, they run errands all the time. I mean, if you can't afford a bag readily and need a friend to help you fly to Bangkok or Hong Kong to save that 15%, then don't buy. Buy like a gay man; you buy the bag, and the coin purse AND the bag charm to match. No looking back. But that's just me. Dammit, I am sure I offend enough people with this but I think I make sense. And it's just an opinion, everyone has them. Shrug it off k?
I am feeling quite yucky living in a densely populated city these days. Specifically in an Asian (Chinese) city where pride overrules and face is everything. Then again I don't appreciate the bumming culture of Australians. Laidback or not, it is the same as laziness. Only difference is that you look better doing it. I need to escape to a beautiful 3rd world village for awhile...where a smile is genuine...and not from a credit card promoter...or a creepy old man.
Anyway I am getting tons of missed calls from an unidentifiable thing. If you cannot sleep at night and need to disturb someone, please dial 98803714! Strongly encouraged! I don't know who he/she/it is, but if you also have a sad, suicidal friend who needs a person (who is damn free to make nuisance calls) to talk to, don't hesitate.

I leave you with the above picture of one of my favourite cartoons, Madeline, who never fails to put me in a better mood. Maybe it's just everything parisian~
