Up Up & Away~

I feel great. Flower Island makes me very happy and I am beginning to think I have grown prettier as a result! Bwahahaha. I dunno what to say though...I feel very happy and very grateful to everything that is happening in 2008!

Last night was particularly interesting. I visited 2 very beautiful bars and received 3 namecards from very very very cute Japanese bartenders. Whoot!!! (Too bad but they won't be asking me out for dates anytime soon.) First stop was the Blue Bar at Shangri-La Hotel, located at the 24th floor. Very nice view and fantastic friendly, discreet service. I had a Strawberry Margarita that received a loud 'FWOW!!' from both me and my loverboy. Ha. It was like a HUGE ice-kachang perched very dangerously on a tiny martini glass. I had only about 1/3 of it and then I got all hot around my neck and ears. Alcohol and RocketJim do not match lah.

Then I got hungry and somehow we landed at Coffee Bar K near Robertson Quay for supper. I would think it is a fantastic place to chill out after work (not that I need to chill, damn I need to work more in fact). Great for dates too. The shelves in the bar are packed with an awe-inspiring number of imported whiskies and other spirits. Kept me entertained for a pretty long while. I had a 'Hanashima-san Special' which is a non-alcoholic mix of several different juices. Basket I can't remember what exactly the bartender put in it...it had something like pineapple and orange juice and alot of apple bits. Very yummy. And then my wandering eye landed on this cardboard 'chart' that had many small bottles attached on it and my curiousity was piqued. I asked the bartender what it was and he insisted we try it. Fwow, this is potent stuff.

The 'Underberg'. It is apparently a digestif bitter produced in Germany and made from 43 aromatic herbs. The bartender has it every morning to aid his digestion...whoa. I like it very much. But it is very strong! I mix it with alot of soda water and lime cuz I am such a loser heh. I would recommend it but according to the bartender, it is a love/hate affair for many customers due to the herbal smell. I dunno but I don't think it is all that bad. Campari taste alot worse.

If you ever check out the bar, lookout for the award-winning head bartender, Ippei-chan. He won the Singapore Cocktail World Cup twice. 3rd place in the whole world too!! Plus, he is very very cute. Haha. *wink wink* He can't speak English to save his life though. And then there is Tat-chan who is a huge joker, 32 years old and single. Ladies, you heard me. Now make your way to that bar if you badly need some eyec-candy.

Lastly, the pictures I promised. These were taken at my best bud's beautiful wedding at The Fullerton.

Le sigh. The bride is very beautiful eh?
