Spring Time

Old people make me very sad; especially those who roam the streets looking for discarded paper boxes, plastic bottles or aluminium cans. They make me feel very guilty and I don't know why. Suddenly I am guilty that I am young, relatively well off (compared to ah peks on pension) and have a long road in front of me. Anyway how could anyone dump their parents in the streets to bake in the fiery sun and collect 20 cents boxes?! Just the other day, while I was walking along Orchard with a friend, an old lady with a limp suddenly turned back and asked my friend for some money to go home. She's so pitiful; she's doesn't even have money to go home! How she ended up in Orchard Road is another question though...still, if I see this old lady and suspect her being in a syndicate cheating money out for guilt-ridden passerbys like me, I think I should be struck by lightning.

On a lighter note, Love seems to be in the air at my workplace. In the past, we would all look enviously at the passengers who hug and kiss their loved ones or leave messages for them. Now, my colleagues are falling in love left and right. Haha, it's getting pretty exciting and also very sweet at the same time. Many people seem happier and that makes me happy too. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to cheer a colleague who is seriously down or a fella with no confidence to go after a girl he likes. It's Spring Time darlings and may the show go on!
