This is pretty late but a very happy new 2005 to everyone. May all my friends and readers be wiser, healthier and wealthier! Truthfully speaking, new year greetings this year has been pretty lukewarm and subdued, afterall it has been only a week since the tidal waves disaster. The very day I learnt about it, there were 'only' 20 thousand casualties, it had since grown exponentially to about 140 thousand. It's really sad and I AM appalled that in this modern age, death tolls could still rise to more than 30 thousand for...well ANYTHING. (The Tangshan earthquake killed about 200000 in 1976 but that was last millennium) My condolences to all affected by it. Why must the poor people suffer so much? It's very heartbreaking when one watches the news and see new people griefing for their lost loved ones. Some idiots can still claim it was the act of God and of course it is bullshit by world-class morons.
I didn't do any countdown myself since I was bushed and getting ready for my morning shift the following day. I actually ushered the new year with a Neutregena face mask on and lying on bed reading The Reader's Digest. Hehe. Talk about laziness and apathy. It was actually great to have to work on New Year's Day because that means I shall have work the whole year through. Good omens! Heh. I also remember someone saying that in Japan, there is this superstition that the first guy you talked to on New Year's day would ultimately figure pretty importantly in your life...so well, I was pretty careful before I open my mouth. Hahahaha...thing is, I work at the airport and I meet everybody from anywhere. There was already this passenger waiting at the counter when the 3 of us came to work and I tried to 'delegate' him to my other colleagues. He looks like some peasant from rural China...hahahaha...well I ultimately had to speak to him (bummer!!! shoot! shoot!) but then again, I ain't Japanese so to heck with the superstition! Hmph.
My buddy finally uploaded the pictures taken on Christmas Eve and I shall try to share a few. That night, one of my friend suggested playing charades and another suggested the classic battle between the sexes. This is an example of what we gave the boys:
Of course they lost very badly. We girls skunked them. Hiak hiak.
What they gave us:
Their spy:

Shall end the entry here today. Happy New 2005 everyone and do not take your family and friends for granted ya? All the best!
