Har har, I didn't know a comment on the casting of Geisha should spark all these replies. Thank you, you funny people. I don't detest Michelle Yeoh (I'm sure she is a nice, intelligent lady) but I am not impressed with her tacky movies in recent years. I almost fell off my chair when I saw the poster for Silver Hawk. So news about her role in Geisha made me puzzled. As suggested by Lepra, I could better see Michelle Reis or Rosamund Kwan as the lovely Mameha. (If we are keeping the tradition of using non-Japanese actresses) Dude...Mameha is a RETIRED geisha, no? The book didn't mention anything about Mameha retiring and then farming in Kyushu, finally mentoring Sayuri. Hehe. Either that, Rie Miyazawa could have been a good candidate in the film too. Well, I guess like what 'ction said, there are only 10 actors in Japan. (As opposed to 10 thousand talkshow hosts there ne, 'ction kun.)

Watched a new variety show on Channel U last night and it had Adrian Pang as the celebrity guest. He's a riot to watch and so funny. See the show pairs celebrities with poor grasps of the Chinese language with Guo Liang and they are taken to Beijing. There, the guests have to string sentences with the proverbs and adjectives given to them by Guo Liang. I had tears in my eyes when I watch Adrian. He's really funny because he's so bad. Reminds me of my primary school homework where I had to string sentences together too. So talking about Mandarin, I don't get some people. Maybe it's a Singaporean phenomenon (*shrugs*); there are people out there who professes very proudly to SUCK at Mandarin. It's a class thing I guess. If you suck at Mandarin, it means you are good at English. See in Singapore, there are still many people with a 'colonized' mentality so if one speaks English well, you are considered to be among the better social strata. Since when was Mandarin low class? It was spoken in the Qing courts! To people who thinks speaking impeccable English is more than enough: Bollocks to you.

Also caught Diane Ser's Get Real! commentaries last night and it was interesting since it was about Singaporean women becoming bolder. (Perhaps we should ask the question: Since when are Singaporean women conservative?) Apparently there is a dance class that teaches women 'stripper moves' that accentuate their given curves. AND of course since we are law-abiding, there aren't any lewd movements (or poles provided). Well, I don't want to comment on this dance class. Nope nope. I just think...well...it's weird why...ok, it's *****ly to me. Har har. Go figure.

Does anyone know how to post pics anymore?! The Blogger interface keeps changing and it hangs everytime I wanna post pics! Grrr. So it's not < arc="..."> anymore? I swear I wasn't posting porn!
