I am still alive

I know summer is coming because the hole in my wallet is getting bigger. I think it's all the extra sunshine that is spurring me to shop. I guess it's kinda weird when I am in fact, living in Singapore but it's the nature of my job. Now, the countries in the northern hemisphere are warm too so it's sunshine everywhere! Whoot~ The last winter was excruciatingly long if you asked me. I'm soooo pleased it's summer all day long now. On my last trip to Amsterdam, I finally went out to take a long walk and I was as happy as a lark. And I spent a mini fortune on a new bag. Yikes. I've never spent so much on a bag before but I figured it's classic design will last me for several years and hopefully, also several fashion cycles. Anyway I am too busy to take the baby out for a walk. I just flew in from Jakarta (visitng Loverboy and cleaning the house) and tomorrow, I'll be starting work again. Bleh. But it's all good because I need tons of money to fund my new purchases.

Also, I am damn pleased to announce I've finally found my skin's salvation in Jurlique!!! WHOOOOOOT!! I don't know why all these time I'd refused myself any and every opportunity to step into a Jurlique shop. If L'occitane was so bloody expensive, I guess Jurlique must be worse. Guess not now. I recently bought a day cream and it's amazing. I can't speak for other people but I love it. I have weird skin; it's dry as hell but also oily and to cap it off, my skin's sensitive too. Tough luck huh? I never know what range to buy when I stand at cosmetic counters. Do I buy for combination skin? Or dry? Or sensitive? Anyway I decided to try Jurlique's Balancing Day cream and it has been working wonders. I haven't seen any night creams so I used the day cream (without spf) at night too. I wake up with my skin feeling like rose petals.

Hallelujah!!! I love love love it. Plus, it's highly natural (I say highly because I can't confirm it is 100% natural. YET.) Anyway it's SLS free, paraben free and fragrance free and made with tons of floral oils so it's all good for me. I've been trying to use natural skincare products for almost 9 months now and it's been good so far. My skin don't itch as much anymore. (My skin didn't itch a single bit when I used Jurlique's cream. Salvation!! Whoot~ oooolalalala~) I bought the cream at about $73 at Changi airport and that was after a 20% crew discount. Bloody hell, everything is so expensive in Singapore. I just checked the US website and it's selling at only USD$40 (SGD$57). WTF, I hate being ripped off. I am so stocking up when I am flying to New York.

I love that Jurlique's creams and lotions come in tubes or dispenser-pmups. It's more hygenic this way AND if you don't already know, the potency of the ingredients keep better in such packagings than in tubs. LOL talk about hardsell. Well, it just all makes sense to me. Anyway I also recently got really curious about SK-II's Miracle Water and blew about $160 on it...and realised it's not paraben free. WTF man. I ain't gonna pay so much for a brand as exclusive as that only to find out it has cheap parabens in it. :( Well, since I stupidly bought it, I am gonna give it to Loverboy....afterall, he has gay tendencies and is vain.

Ha!

As an update, Loverboy and I have somewhat decided to go to Maldives for our honeymoon. I think both of us aren't 100% entirely excited about Maldives but it makes sense. It's near, it's beautiful and it's ummm gorgeous. Also we can't decide on anywhere else. We'd both prefer to go Kenya or Tahiti but both destinations are too bloody far so that's out for me. Why would I want to be stuck in a plane for more than 10 hours (work is a different issue)? I'm more excited about China but Loverboy laughed and then scoffed at me.

Hmmm Maldives could work. The picture's gorgeous. I don't mind doing nothing except bake in the sun the whole day. I like that Maldives doesn't have an LV shop with a snaking queue of Asians outside. I like that it's just the ocean, sun and fishes. No mountains to climb, no ruins to visit and no shops to die-die have to go to. (As an aside, can you imagine making a romantic trip to Europe and having your insensitive friends bothering you to buy 2-3 LV/Chanel bags for each of them??)

Lastly, I had a DOA2 (Dead or ALive) showdown in Jakarta a couple of days back. One of Loverboy's colleague found out we had a PS2 at home and that I was a gaming nerd. So he posed a challenge at me. Over dinner he was still boasting comically how out of 5 matches, he was confident in winning at least 3. We had tons of fun after dinner that night. 3 guys and 1 girl and tons of button mashing.

The score was 21-2. I won of course. Heh heh. Man, they sucked!!! Next up: Virtual Fighter and Tekken!

lol. jurlique is very good, but the shampoo unfortunately still has SLS. i'm a little disappointed because i like jurlique and like their "love balm", which has worked well for me. the sandalwood conditioner is great though.

and maldives sounds great. my colleague went there and had a great time diving.
