Cookie-baking Day~
We decided to put the recipe we learnt at Raffles to the test! We had 2 different varieties. Loverboy made almond & chocolate chip cookies. I made macadamia & M&M cookies. Over the weekend, we met different friends and put them through blind-tasting tests. I pretty much won 70% of the time because duh, I mean who wouldn't love colourful M&Ms?? Loverboy's cookies could have turned out very very well if he had used unsalted almonds. It wasn't his fault because the stupid Chinaman at Carrefour didn't understand RAW almonds and sold me salted ones instead. Damn pissed lah. Nevermind happy thoughts happy thoughts.
Foot patterned cookies. So cute right? Pity they were so badly burnt. We kinda dozed off after the last batch *sheepish*...there were quite a few weird cookies Loverboy made with the remaining cookie dough haha...dog poop cookies, feet cookies and pen*s cookies which REALLY EXTENDED in the heat. ;) Heh. Anyway the results were very good for a first timer like him. Btw, they taste awesome!
Roast Chicken Lunch Party~
The following weekend, DC flew back to Singapore for a week and we wasted no time ambushing him and learning his famous roast chicken recipe. His stuffing was divineeeeeee.
Your mouth watering yet? The potatoes were roasted so well, DC is da man! They were fluffy yet crispy. The sausages were also really good (Cold Storage. Bratwurst). But this is not something you want to do every weekend because it takes way too much effort. And there were about 12 people that day, imagine the cleaning up we had to do after everyone left. I channelled my inner Cinderella and was literally on my knees scrubbing the kitchen floor. And then there were also little mice dancing around me with mops and bluebirds singing by the window. Nice.
(Btw, my apron is wayyyyy sexier)
Ok I will continue with more pictures tomorrow. Yesterday I made Potato & Rocket Soup. VERY nice lah, haha!! I also made Salmon & Parsley Pasta. It wasn't too bad except I forgot to add salt. Anyway I think I possess some natural talent in the kitchen bahaha. Gotta go, suddenly a Mr Ando is in Singapore and I need to go entertain my hungry friend.
