Dad: A compliment is like...telling your mummy she is beautiful. *winks*
Me: Uh huh ok.
Dad: Flattery though is different. It is like telling......hmmmmm.....Patricia Mok that she is beautiful. She is definitely NOT good looking so that is not a compliment. You could compliment her on her long, lean legs or fair skin or something. But beautiful? No.
Me: Very enlightening. So if I say you are handsome, is that flattery har?
Dad: Hehe, it's a compliment!!
