I had soooo much fun in Bangkok. Honestly I didn't see much...I didn't see the Grand Palace, I didn't see Wat Pho (reclining Buddha) nor did I go to the Chaktuchak Weekend Market but I still have a lovely time. All thanks to my lovely company. I was really well taken care of and surrounded by luxury. I even tried a massage package that last 3.5hours!! Lovely~ Yeah anyway....to my shopaholic friends, I must have the most loserly trip to Bangkok cuz all the shopping I did was this:

Haha. That was it. A few pouches and a Thai silk shirt for my dad that cost a small bomb. I thought I would be able to find 50 cents panties or $2 shirts and come home to ya-ya to my friends about the superb bargains. Nope. Apparently RocketJim and bargains don't match. I didn't find Bangkok cheap and I have no idea where most people went to find those cheap stuff. My cheapest meal cost me SGD$8? I really expected 50baht meals but..........guess not. Still, cheap or not Thai food rocks. My meals were ALL delicious. I had seafood and green curry everyday. Yummy~ On the last day, I had dinner at Shangri-La Hotel by the Chao Phraya river. The view and the food was sooooo good I am still dreaming about it.

I was taken for a stroll along Japan Town and Patpong and wow, it's fascinating. I was totally ignored in Patpong while my friend was often hustled by the various Thai pimps. You want see show? Strip good! Many ladies! or You want to see Ping Pong show? (whats that anyway??) I thought Amsterdam was fastastic but in Patpong, I really witnessed rows of scantily-clad women in 'fishbowls' waiting for their next lusty customer. Wow....they were displayed like those plastic menu models outside Tokyo's ramen shops. And I had a revolution in Patpong: Why hideout in the mountains when I can be totally invisible in Patpong?! Nobody talked to me there!!

Transport was so freaking cheap in Bangkok. We wanted to visit the Grand Palace on Sunday morning but it suddenly rained cats and dogs. Plus all the road blocks and traffic jams, we spent about an hour and a half in a taxi but it was only about 200 bahts (SGD$10) in the end. One thing though, I do notice that the Thais don't honk very much. They are not the safest drivers in the world but they don't honk unnecessarily like Singaporeans.
They love their King very much too. My massage girl told me he is a very kind king, that is why the people worship him. When I took the train on Monday, I noticed many people wearing yellow shirts. I thought I bumped into crowd from a concert or a University but I was told that the benevolent Thai King was born on a Monday. Hence, many Thais would wear yellow on Mondays as a form of celebration and respect. Wow. Bush should kick himself eh.
Unfortunately all good things have an end. My lovely Bangkok trip was over way too soon. =(
I was kept busy when I was back in Singapore as my Tokyo spy was in town. I showed him around town and forced him to try durian ice-cream. Haha he hated it. Like most Japanese, he was fascinated by the Merlion and love it very much. Then he asked if Merlion cellphone straps are sold. Sooooo typical. I wonder why we Singaporeans got no love for the Merlion. I personally find it pretty redundant and ugly. Not exactly heritage either. Tokyo spy was ecstatic when his hotel room offered a view of the Esplanade and the Merlion's.......butt.

The Fullerton IS amazing. The bath amenities are by Molton Brown too. Wonder what the Raffles Hotel offer? Bvlgari amenities? And at night, you can totally see the National Day rehearsals from the window. All the human formations remind him of footages from North Korea (-_-;;).....but anyway, I am thinking the celebration might look pretty this year.
And then my holiday ended when he flew back to Tokyo yesterday.
=(
Need another already. Pffffft, back to work in 3 days.
Thank god there was a great eating and shopping session with lovely Liting (my wonderful company in Hokkaido) to curb my depression. I had alot of fun shopping for dresses today though I might have to survive on kaya toast for the coming month. My wallet so flat now. Double pffffft.
