Happy Birthday, Singapore!
Yeah I am way late but better late than never. As usual, I couldn't be bothered about the rest of the items after the March-Pass. THAT is the highlight every year according to me. The men in uniform...field commands...official looking flags....nah, I'm kidding. The real reason I like it is due to the fact that it reminds me of my days back in NPCC (national police cadet corps). Serious. And THAT is also why my dad keeps thinking I am destined to be a police woman. Talking about career prospects in the police, there are so many other jobs I want to try too. I wonder if my life would be long enough to try about everything.
* WARNING: Some obscenities and strong words*
Caught The Village with a bunch of friends recently and it was alright although half the cinema audience went "Wah lau! Fuck man, what type of shit show was that?! Fucking stupid." (That was repeatedly proclaimed by some beng-bengs behind me. Ok technically, not half the cinema but I heard alot of swearing.) I could have reached over and slapped them a couple of times during the movie. These were a bunch of young, cocky schoolboys who taught the world of themselves. And they swore way too much. I totally understand when people swear in anger but I can't forgive people who swear for the fun of it. Example:
Boy#1: Wah liew, sibei unlucky man.
Boy#2: Yah man! Chee bai! Hahaha...yadda yadda yadda chee bai lah!
Boy#1: Kao pei kao bu!
(*sibei literally means dead father in Hokkien and chee bai eh...refers to female genitalia. Kao pei kao bu literally means cry father cry mother which is, generally making alot of fuss/noise)
I was standing opposite these 2 boys and they were swearing so much. Arg! It was so uncultured and so ungentlemanly. I really wanted to reach over and slap them but no, I shall wait until I have a police badge or something. Arg. They were an eye-sore and an ear-sore and if I were their mother, I will get them to eat soap for the next 15 years. They HAD to use the terms I hate most in the Hokkien language. (>.<)
Makes global sapien all the more....*daydreams*
I keep telling people NOT to watch House of Flying Daggers but nobody listens. Ah well, the pull of the good looking cast.
